Poem dated 10/14/2022–
My Hate
by Noah Gallagher
Why is there so much hate in the world?
Those monstrous ones who detest their own
And fester with darkness to spread it abroad–
They inflict the suffering world with their hate.
~
Their hate is not like mine;
My hate is widely approved,
Peer-reviewed,
Beautifully true,
Sanctioned by the masses.
It’s the kind of hate that makes things better
A pure and white hot anger that burns
Only those who deserve it:
Those with hearts of blackened hate–
The kind that makes things worse!
The kind no one at all affirmed!
But we with righteous hearts are safe,
Filled and stocked with useful hate.
The truth rings in our ears so loud
To drown out lies our enemies say.
We shall not be deceived, oh no:
Their hate is wrong and ours is right.
~
Come, fill your hearts with hate like mine
The kind that cures the world
The kind we’ve voted to deploy
In an overwhelming vote
Against the ones whose hate is wrong.
Those who know, know hate is right
When it paves the way for love
The love that flows, like blood from wounds,
When all the hateful ones are gone.
